Frank McAvoy and Jim Markham founded McAvoy & Markham Engineering & Sales Co. in 1981 to serve the electric power industry in Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada.

Organizations
McAvoy & Markham is proud to support the industry with professional memberships with IEEE, Western Underground, MANA, San Diego Building Engineers Association, American Utilities Association, and Lineman Rodeos across the Southwest.
McAvoy & Markam is also a proud financial and volunteer contributor to the San Diego Nice Guys. Since 1979, the Nice Guys have helped San Diego families and individuals who, through no fault of their own, have fallen on tough times. The Nice Guys provides a hand up to get San Diegans back on their feet and self-sufficient.
History
Frank McAvoy and Jim Markham founded McAvoy & Markham Engineering & Sales Co. in 1981 to serve the electric power industry in Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada. In 1995, John McAvoy and Richard Salemme purchased the company. Our offices are in Irvine, CA & Oceanside, CA.

John McAvoy
President & Principal
John focuses on managing the businesses and ensuring that we meet employees’, customers’ and manufacturers’ expectations.
Richard Salemme
VP Sales & Principal
Richard primarily focuses on SCE and our Nevada customers. As a Principal Member of the company, he is also responsible for managing a sustainable business.
Chris Lindsay-Smith
Sales Engineer
Chris primarily focuses on Municipal Electric Utilities. He also brings a wealth of metering knowledge across our territory and throughout the country, as a consultant.
Carlos Cuevas
Sales Engineer
Carlos primarily focuses on our customers in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, & San Bernardino counties. His leadership, experience, and knowledge are valued across our team.
Steve Winden
Sales Representative
Steve primarily focuses on our Arizona customers. His ability to utilize drafting software to display or create products that bridge the gap between our customers and manufacturers benefits both our customers and manufacturers.
Haroon Juhdi
Sales Representative
Haroon primary focus is San Diego area. He graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Just ask me how to help you. I’ll find solutions.
